Concept
I had been associated with a number of women who were pregnant and was inspired by their ability to juggle family, work and personal relationships. My best friend’s daughter, Ursula, then gave birth to her second child. A lot of my work is very spontaneous, which is why I love encaustic so much. The work tells me what my next move will be. After I pulled the print from the hot palette, I could clearly see a baby in vitro.
