Waiting for the Tide: Changing the Narrative Juried Exhibition

I am thrilled to share with you that my encaustic painting, “Waiting for the Tide,” has been chosen for inclusion in the prestigious International Encaustic Artists exhibition, titled “Changing the Narrative.” The exhibition will be held at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto, California.

Here are the event details:

  • Opening Reception: Saturday, March 9th (4:00 – 6:30 pm)
  • Exhibition Dates: March 8th – April 30th, 2024

“Waiting for the Tide” measures 23.5 x 23.5 inches and was completed in 2022. This piece is deeply inspired by the interplay of shadows found in nature. Within the encaustic medium, I’ve sought to capture the essence of shadows, incorporating imagery of orange trees and an empty canoe, shrouded in captivating darkness.

My artistic approach delves into the intricacies of the human experience, employing color, symbolism, texture, and abstract forms to convey layers of meaning. Guided by intuition, I embrace the inherent unpredictability of encaustic, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of discovery within the work.

The International Encaustic Artists (IEA) stands as a beacon for wax artists worldwide, fostering growth, and providing valuable resources within a vibrant global community.

I hope you can make the exhibition to celebrate the transformative power of art and explore narratives that transcend boundaries.
