I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on our recent encaustic monotype workshop at the Center for Creative Renewal. It was an incredible experience, and I couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of you for diving into this challenging technique with such eagerness and determination.
We kicked off the workshop by focusing on the basics, ensuring we had a solid foundation in working with encaustic. Safety measures were paramount, and we made sure to set up proper heat settings and ventilation to create a safe and comfortable environment. I’m so glad we prioritized that.
Over the course of two intense days, we explored the intriguing interaction between wax, heat, paper, encaustic medium, and color. Trust me, I know it can be tricky to navigate, but you all embraced the challenge with open minds and hearts. And let me tell you, the results were absolutely stunning. The artwork that emerged from each of you was nothing short of breathtaking.
One of the highlights for me was when we shared our work with each other. It was incredible to see the diverse range of styles and techniques on display. We used that time to troubleshoot any problem areas and celebrate our successes. Your willingness to offer feedback and support to one another created a nurturing and inspiring atmosphere that truly embodied the spirit of artistic collaboration.
Now, here’s the exciting part. Many of you expressed interest in an encaustic collage workshop, and I’m thrilled to announce that the dates will be revealed shortly! I’m overjoyed to see your enthusiasm for further exploration and learning. With encaustic collage, we’ll dive into new ways of incorporating mixed media elements into our encaustic creations, unlocking even more artistic possibilities.
Thank you all for being such incredible artists and for making this workshop a resounding success. Your passion and dedication have inspired me, and I’m honored to have been a part of your artistic journey. Stay tuned for the upcoming encaustic collage workshop dates, and let’s continue to create art that ignites our souls.
